OBVIOUSLY you’re afraid to ride it because it’s a 250R and it won’t ‘have enough power to get you out of trouble’.
Right?
RIGHT?

Welcome to the club!
Two wheels definitely good!
It’s not that much different from your vespa, you’ll enjoy it.

Your chicken strips are the size of tires!
In all seriousness though, stay safe, stay geared up. I can 100% recommend an HJC RPHA 70 ST helmet, I put myself through the back of a station wagon on my Ninja 1k last week with no head/neck/spine injuries to speak of, and a real hankering for some knee/leg armor, were I not wearing an armored jacket and gloves things could have been much worse.
Not saying this to scare you, quite the opposite in fact, I just ordered my replacement helmet this morning for whenever I don’t have both a broken leg and broken bike.
Take it slow, maybe an MSF basic rider course, maybe just cruise around the neighborhood a few times before taking it out on larger roads.

You’re shopping for Cressidas , and the next thing I know you come home with this?
I think I know of some young man in your household who will be bugging you to borrow it.

Looks like fun, but are you comfortable on it? I was at a car/airshow at Los Alamitos a few years ago and strolled over to the BMW booth. I tried sitting on one of their sportbikes and my back immediately screamed ‘NO!’ It was at that moment that I determined that my next bike will be something where I can ride a little more upright, but probably a bit scooter of some sort. Hey, if I can take the ribbing that comes from choosing to daily a minivan I can put up with the teasing that comes from riding what the HD and sportbike riders consider to be less of a bike.
I’m still kicking myself for not buying a GB500 when they were new and cheap...

Thankfully, it’s still the entry level ninja at heart - should be a sweetheart to you as you learn how to use a hand operated clutch. You also now get to join the club of “Wow backpacks are way more useful than I remember...”. I highly recommend a good backpack or a cargo net for the “rear seat” so you can at least carry small objects home.
Oh, and a small tank bag or handlebar bag is a near MUST to empty your pockets into before you ride . Much more comfortable and safer to have keys, wallet, phone, etc not in your pants in case something happens.

Best advice I can give, ride like no one else on the road can see you. Because as soon as you start getting comfortable and try to shoot a gap in traffic, that’s when someone truly will not see you as they change lanes.
There’s nothing wrong with being nervous about getting started. That’s totally rational.

Oooh cool! Looks like fun!
After spending a couple hours with AMGTech and Decay a few months ago, my friend signing up for the motorcycle endorsement course, and now this... if I didn’t just get a p upper, I’d probably be looking for a bike too.

Why is this a question? It’s not a mod though, it’s just fixing a mistake the factory had to make.

This looks fun. Should be a good size to get around, and keep for economic reasons when you decide on something bigger. Congrats! on the purchase of something not made over 30 years ago (I forgot about the VW for a minute)
